The rules and community standards that keep SAFFA HUB safe, respectful and useful for everyone.

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, posting content or using the SAFFA HUB platform, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions and Content Moderation Policies. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Content Moderation & Platform Rights

SAFFA HUB is a community platform intended to provide a safe, respectful and lawful environment for South Africans living in Australia.

By using SAFFA HUB, all users agree that:

  • All content posted must be lawful, accurate, respectful and appropriate.
  • Users must not post content that is misleading, fraudulent, offensive, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, threatening, harassing, obscene, illegal or otherwise inappropriate.
  • Users must not upload copyrighted material without permission.
  • Users must not use the platform for scams, spam, misleading advertising, illegal activities or malicious purposes.
  • Users must not impersonate another person, business or organisation.

Platform rights

SAFFA HUB reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

  • Review any content submitted to the platform.
  • Remove, edit, disable or delete any content that is deemed inappropriate, unethical, offensive, misleading, harmful, unlawful or not aligned with the purpose of the platform.
  • Remove content without prior notice.
  • Suspend, restrict or permanently terminate user accounts.
  • Block users from accessing the platform.
  • Remove business listings, events, classifieds, jobs, recipes, reviews, comments, advertisements or any other content.
  • Investigate suspected breaches of these Terms and Conditions.
  • Cooperate with law enforcement authorities where required by law.

Reporting content

Users may report content that they believe violates these Terms & Conditions. SAFFA HUB reserves the right to investigate reports and take action deemed appropriate.

No guarantee of content accuracy

SAFFA HUB does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability or completeness of content submitted by users, businesses or third parties. Users access and rely on such content at their own risk.

Limitation of liability

SAFFA HUB accepts no responsibility for transactions, communications, agreements, disputes, losses or damages arising between users, businesses or third parties using the platform.

Changes to these terms

SAFFA HUB may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

AI Services

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Services

These terms apply to all AI features on SAFFA HUB, including the Community Assistant, Business AI, New To Australia Assistant, Career Assistant, Recipe AI, Rugby AI, Bible AI, Prayer AI, the AI Companion, page-context assistants and any future SAFFA AI assistant, search or tool ("SAFFA AI").

1. AI-generated content

SAFFA AI responses are automatically generated by third-party AI models. Responses are not manually reviewed by SAFFA HUB and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased or misunderstood.

2. General information only

SAFFA AI provides general information only. It must not be relied on as professional advice or as a substitute for consulting a qualified professional or an official source.

3. No professional advice

SAFFA HUB and SAFFA AI do not provide:

  • legal advice
  • financial or investment advice
  • tax or accounting advice
  • medical or psychological advice
  • emergency advice
  • migration, visa or immigration advice
  • employment-law advice

Before making any decision, you must obtain advice from a qualified Australian professional or an official source.

4. Migration, visa and immigration compliance

SAFFA HUB and SAFFA AI do not provide "immigration assistance" as that term is used in the Migration Act 1958 (Cth). SAFFA AI will not answer questions about visas, permanent residency, citizenship, sponsorship, subclasses, bridging visas, work rights, partner, parent or student visas, or any migration pathway.

5. Assistant-specific disclaimers

  • New To Australia Assistant — provides general settlement information only (TFN, Medicare, superannuation, banking, schools, childcare, driver licences, renting, utilities). It does not answer visa, migration, permanent residency, citizenship or immigration pathway questions.
  • Business AI — provides general marketing and content suggestions only. You are responsible for compliance with the Australian Consumer Law, advertising and privacy laws, copyright, accuracy of any claims, pricing and promotions.
  • Career Assistant — provides general career guidance only. It does not guarantee employment, interviews, salaries, visa or work eligibility, or compliance with employment laws.
  • Recipe AI — provides general recipe suggestions only. You are responsible for checking allergies, dietary needs, food safety and suitability for your household.
  • Rugby AI — fixtures, results and statistics may be outdated. Verify important match details with official sources.
  • Bible AI and Prayer AI — provide spiritual encouragement and general faith-based support only. They are not counselling, medical, psychological, legal or emergency support. For urgent mental health, safety or medical issues, contact emergency services or qualified professionals.

7. User responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • verifying any information SAFFA AI provides;
  • checking official sources before acting;
  • obtaining appropriate professional advice;
  • not relying solely on AI-generated content; and
  • complying with all applicable Australian laws.

8. AI misuse

You must not use SAFFA AI to:

  • break laws or breach the rights of others;
  • harass, abuse, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
  • create scams or mislead people;
  • impersonate another person or organisation;
  • generate malware or attempt to compromise systems;
  • infringe intellectual property or copyright;
  • produce harmful, hateful or sexual content; or
  • bypass SAFFA HUB's safety controls or guardrails.

9. Moderation

SAFFA HUB may, at its sole discretion:

  • refuse or block AI prompts;
  • block or edit unsafe or non-compliant AI responses;
  • suspend or revoke AI access;
  • remove AI-generated content published on the platform; and
  • terminate accounts that misuse SAFFA AI.

10. Limitation of liability for AI

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SAFFA HUB is not liable for any loss or damage arising from AI-generated content, including incorrect, incomplete or outdated responses, decisions you make in reliance on SAFFA AI, financial loss, business loss, employment outcomes, health outcomes or migration outcomes.

Nothing in this section excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Security, Data Protection & Limitation of Liability

Purpose

SAFFA HUB is a community platform that connects South Africans across Australia. While we take reasonable measures to protect the platform, users acknowledge that all online services carry inherent risks.

Security & Cybersecurity Disclaimer

SAFFA HUB takes reasonable steps to maintain the security, availability and integrity of the platform. However, no website, application, online service, database, cloud platform or electronic communication system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

By creating an account, accessing, or using SAFFA HUB, users acknowledge and agree that:

  • Use of SAFFA HUB is entirely at the user's own risk.
  • SAFFA HUB does not guarantee that the platform will be free from hacking attempts, cyber-attacks, malware, ransomware, viruses, phishing attacks, unauthorised access, data breaches, outages, system failures, or service interruptions.
  • Information transmitted over the internet may be vulnerable to interception, corruption, loss, delay, or unauthorised access.
  • Users voluntarily provide information to the platform and accept the inherent risks associated with online services.

User Responsibility

By creating an account on SAFFA HUB, users acknowledge that participation on the platform is voluntary.

Users are solely responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of their username and password.
  • Securing their devices, internet connections and email accounts.
  • Ensuring that information they provide is accurate and lawful.
  • Any activity that occurs under their account.

Users must immediately notify SAFFA HUB if they become aware of any unauthorised access or suspected compromise of their account.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SAFFA HUB, its owners, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, volunteers, agents, partners and service providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or economic loss arising from:

  • Cybersecurity incidents.
  • Hacking or unauthorised access.
  • Data breaches.
  • Identity theft.
  • Account compromise.
  • Malware or viruses.
  • Loss of data.
  • Service interruptions.
  • Website downtime.
  • Errors, omissions or inaccuracies in platform content.
  • Third-party websites, services or integrations.
  • User-generated content.
  • Business listings, advertisements, promotions, rewards, events or classified listings published by users.

This includes, but is not limited to, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunities, reputational damage, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or business interruption.

Third-Party Content Disclaimer

SAFFA HUB provides access to user-generated content, business listings, events, jobs, classifieds, recipes, rewards, promotions and external websites.

SAFFA HUB does not verify, endorse, warrant or guarantee the accuracy, quality, legality, safety or reliability of any content, service, product or business listed on the platform.

Users interact with businesses, organisations and other users entirely at their own risk.

No Guarantee of Availability

SAFFA HUB does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform and may suspend, modify, restrict or discontinue any feature, service or content at any time without notice.

Indemnity

Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless SAFFA HUB, its owners, employees, contractors and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs or expenses arising from:

  • Their use of the platform.
  • Their breach of these Terms & Conditions.
  • Content they publish.
  • Their interactions with other users or businesses.
  • Any unlawful, fraudulent or negligent conduct.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

Acceptance of Risk

By creating an account, continuing to use SAFFA HUB, or accessing any part of the platform, users acknowledge that:

  • They understand the risks associated with internet-based services.
  • They understand that no online platform can guarantee complete security.
  • They voluntarily choose to use SAFFA HUB.
  • They accept the limitations of liability outlined in these Terms & Conditions.
